About Our Community Center

Many of our children and their families live in communities where they face negative and often risky situations. The lack of positive resources and opportunities, in addition to the pressure of joining gangs or not having safe spaces to entertain or study, can overwhelm low-income families.

These are places where people come together to be inspired and learn from each other. Community centers like Piedras Vivas in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora Mexico, are concrete proof of our taxpayers’ long-term investment in the lives of children, their families and communities. These structures offer families the resources and opportunities they need to reinvent their lives.

A community center is a building designed for carrying out social, cultural, sports and spiritual growth activities. Our Center is a place where the encounter with the other occurs and that at the same time originates flows of activity that regenerate the environment, both in the compact city and in the suburban dispersion. A primary activity of the Community Center is to assist the community in its need for food. But we are also making efforts to contribute to the need for better education and moral values.

Social volunteering is a non-profit activity that is carried out by an interesting number of people who, on their own, are responsible for adopting the initiative of empathizing with the lives of other people with the aim of helping them as much as possible. can and is within your reach.

For volunteering to be considered as such, its task must be related to activities of general interest, have an altruistic and supportive nature, be carried out without being obligated, be carried out by a public or private non-profit organization and not offer financial compensation. . A volunteer must be someone who loves people and fights to defend the needs of the most unfortunate.
