LIVING STONES MINISTRY MEXICO,

As board members of Living Stones Ministry, Mark and Karen Higgings are residents of Gunnison, Colorado, a tiny town full of kindhearted and devout individuals. The goal of Living Stones Ministry was to give community members rides. They were transporting people to their appointments, grocery stores, and chores. However, they felt a calling from God in 2010 to go to Puerto Peñasco, so they did as God instructed, selling their restaurant and most of their belongings in Gunnison, Colorado, and moving to their new home under the care of Living Stones Ministry.

After relocating to Puerto Peñasco, Mark and Karen started volunteering at the 2 Fish Ministry and forming bonds with like-minded individuals. They also brought with them a formidable team that enabled them to realize their vision.

They leased a space in the Colonia San Rafael neighborhood at the end of 2011, and they officially began working on their plan in 2012. There they established a Mexican nonprofit organization that became Centro Comunitario De Piedras Vivas A.C. (Christian Community Center of Living Stones) registered in 2012. 

Eneida Birnbaum is  currently The US President of the nonprofit community Center, Pastor Marlon Chacon is Mexican Board President of the nonprofit Community Center

Numerous events genuinely generate money to support the continuous sponsorships and contributions from other fervent Christians who witness God’s work being realized via the Community Center and their committed staff. This lovely family of missionaries, who came to Puerto Peñasco to serve and establish a church, is one of the three full-time sponsored positions in the ministry. Pastor Marlon Chacon is currently the organization’s director; his wife Yessy Valerio is in charge of administration and coordination, with their son Gabriel Chacon helping with coordination. 

The Christian Community Center is also blessed in that Mexican, American, and Costa Rican citizens actively participate in the center’s events by volunteering their time to help with various tasks, such as contributing supplies the ministry may require.
